This fireplace is very large for the size room it occupies. I started with vertical gas logs to add mass in the fireplace but not to fill the fireplace widthwise.  Then it needed a screen that was smaller than the opening. Starting with a simple flat square screen. Curving it so it bows into the room. Than cutting away the corners so it makes sense visually why the screen was smaller than the opening.
