Wanting a simpler way of designing larger gas log sets I worked on an idea that would make the process easier. I started with larger logs that would be used on a double burner system. A burner for embers and a raised burner for the larger logs. This was the base. It was important to add flexibility to the base. This came in the form of an add on third burner that would be raised with additional large logs to fill out the set. I shopped the idea around to a few manufactures before find one that saw the potential for larger gas log sets with flexible configurations. I met with manufacture and also designed a few log stacks to accompany the burner system.

The prototype burner proved the concept would work. So much so I used the prototype from the manufacture for a residential fireplace in Vail Colorado. You can see in the “Before” picture an off-the-shelf log set that was lost in the fireplace. The “After” picture shows the Triple Stack burner system with a Timber style log set. This set up fills the fireplace and adds the weight the fireplace and room needs.
